Bleeding the clutch?

Ok first off the car I am talking about it an 87 jeep wrangler. It has an inline 6 in it. Manual

Hey whats up guys. I have a question..... My father in law has a jeep and he just put a new clutch in. Now theres no pressure in the cltuch pedal and it wont go into gear. We bled the line and it worked for alittle bit but once we let the car sit for about 10 minutes he hopped back to move it and there was no pressure in the clutch pedal and it would work again. We followed the instructions in the chiltons manual on how to bleed the system but we obviously at still doing something wrong.

Any help you guy can give would be greatly appreciated...

I'm not familiar with that year's clutch, but it sounds like there may be a leak that's allowing air into the system. check to see that everything you removed/changed is tightened to specs.

-edit- is there anything leaking under the vehicle?

I just wanted to add that when he changed the clutch the throw out bearing and also the master cylinder.

I'd check to insure the connections are correct and tight.

Are there any leaks under the vehicle?

I asked him if there was anything leaking under the vehicle and he said no.

Can someone tell me step by step the proper procedure on how to bleed the clutch?

bleeding the clutch is like bleeding the brakes; you might have a slave cylinder that's leaking; that's what happened on my dad's '88 Commanche

i am having the same exact problem with my 88 inline 6 clutch.
I have bled a hundred clutches and i cant get is to bleed
i have replaced the master and slave clutch, throw out, and pressure plate. if you figure it out post a reply.

94 jeep wrangler 2.5 liter 5 speed manual: Need info on where to bleed clutch. Clutch line is right under drivers side. However, I do not see a bleeder valve. Need Help!

I have a 87 Wrangle w/ inline 6. We had the same problem......we determind the the cap where you fill your fluid was not sealed. We bought a new cap and our problem went away. Good luck!

Thank you dusty341. The cap I'll look into. Need info on where to bleed the clutch. I am assuming that it is on the slave master. Hopefully will replace allen screw with bleeder valve.
