'99 Escort flaky anti theft

Hey, folks, first post here. I hope you can help me. I have a '99 Escort SE, 74k miles that has a flaky anti-theft system.
Sporadically it will go off and honk the horn as if a door has been opened. I believe it is a loose connection somewhere, because it seems to be worse on windy days. Once when I parked on a bridge which had noticable vibration due to the interstate underneath, it went off three times in the space of 15 minutes.
Any suggestions for 1) diagnosing the loose connection, or 2) disabling the system altogether? It has gotten to the point where I have to lock the doors manually and not with the fob or I risk having the system go off and annoy everyone in the parking lot or drain my battery.
Thanks!
