Well, I finally got what I've always wanted... a 1g GSX. Now I have about a billion questions. First off, the GSX has some tranny problems, it'll only shift into 3rd gear, haven't had a chance to really look at it, but does anyone have any ideas or perhaps places I should start looking? Next, what is a safe boost setting to run the 14B at? Third, does anyone have pictures of a 1g with the Apexi N1 on it? And lastly, anybody in the market for a 2g Talon???

The only gear in your tranny that works is 3rd? If that's the case, you may want to have our dear friend John Sheppard take a look. As for the boost setting, 14 or so should be fine. Congrats by the way!

The problem could be the throwout bearing, I recomment a stage 2 clutch & throwout bearing kit. Secondly, I recommend a manual HBC boost controller to help with a quicker spool up time. It's nice to see that you went with a 1st Gen... being that the throttle body and turbo are bigger & the internals on a 4G63 are stronger.
(The bushings on 1st gen cables are rubber, get a ball bearing set for about $30 to have smoother shifts)

Spool up time is affected with an MBC?

Bleeder type valves create a leak in the line running to the westgate & the larger the leake the more turbo lag. Their kits block the signal to the westgate until the internal spring pressure of the valve is overcome then the signal reaches the westgate to open it.. Without a leak the turbo will spool quicker.

all the turbo 2.0 eclipse and talons came with the 4g63, whether it was a 2nd gen or a 1st gen.

why do you have a boost guage and are awaiting a downpipe on your 240 engine, which you said was stock. The KA24DE was N/A only.

My bad guys... I'm the original poster for this thread, I was on my laptop and didn't realize that my buddy was on it before me, when I posted, it was under his name. He's got the boost gauge and downpipe b/c he's about ready to get an SR20. Anywho... sorry about the confusion.
