a buddy of mine has a 2003 silverado that has 13000 miles on it. he has been having a problem with both the rear doors on the extra cab rubbing the bottom of the door jam causing a noise and also is causing the paint to be rubbed off in that area. he has taking it to the dealership and they have replaced the body mounts on it saying that the body or frame is flexing to much causing the problem but they havent fixed anything. have any of you run into this problem or know what can be done to correct it? thanks alot.

hey, man... I had asked this question also a few days early, yet no one seemed to know... I have the same problem where the paint is coming off the bottom (where you put your foot, step) . I heard that you should change the hinges but, I am not sure.... If you do ever find out, please post your findings here... so I can fix my silvy...tanks...

check bushings in hinges. If all else fails check with a body shop and see if those doors are adjustable. Sounds like hinges have play or are installed to low.

Are you saying the paint is coming off where you put your foot while climbing in? The paint on mine is wearing off in the same spot, but my shoe is what's wearing it off. Look on the bottom of the door to see if that paint is worn as well.
