How'd you get 5 purple stars, buddy? I envy you, and I envy that car. I've wanted a 240SX since I was 10, but then I found this sweet RX-7 that I couldn't pass up, so I guess it's still just a dream to me.

i like them 240SX's..They got a good stock engine rated at 155HP which correct me if im wrong,is the same powerplant the old Altimas used...Combine that with Rear-wheel drive and you got a V6 Mustang killer right there and you can always Turbocharge the engine or swap it for the legendary SR20DET

If you want a V6 Mustang killer, get a Civic and add intake and exhuast :biggrin: .

Wow, for 11s I was expecting a KA-T. Is this a drag car or what?

BTW: I don't know if it's the altima motor too..I just know it's the KA24DE otherwise known as the 'truck motor'. I was always led to believe a KA24DE-T was better suited for drag racing and made more torque than an SR20DET. Not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper..but I'm not trying to knock on your SR20.

yes ka came in altima at 155hp, but i have an sr baby :) they say ka-t is suited for drag but i think its all heresay, someone with their ka-t just bent a rod at a little over 500whp and enthalpy and his sr have been up to 540whp+ without a problem besides his crappy fuel pump trying to support all that power. but if you build out the motor who knows.... both of them can be fast without a doubt, comes down to how much money you have.


i didn't know fly got banned, i haven't been around here in a while and i don't think he has either.

yea i just did the turbo upgrade about a week ago but decided to take it down for another few weeks and do the head gasket as well, so i don't have downtime in the summer when i NEED the car :) should put out 360whp but full boost around 3800rpm, which will be wicked. i've got suspension, just picked up some rims a few days back, got ok brakes, so yea i tried to do an all around car this time rather than just all power. the car is starting to come together nicely and i am really happy of where its going. i think im nearing completion, you're never done with the car but its pretty close. the car looks good, has plenty of power, handles like a dream and can be daily driven. yea im pretty much done, may want to work on the exterior a bit and that'll do it. yes the interior is leather s14 seats, i don't know how i found them. its soooo comfy inside, i had to get them after the s13 seats have been giving me back problems.


kills on stock turbo included a few modified cobras, turbo honda and numerous other shits not worth noting lol. i can't wait to run this thing on the dyno and just drive it around. i was looking for a turbo to give me full boost asap and still put out at 350whp, so i landed on the gt2871r .64. scott from secret services tuned it, i can't wait to get her back on the road again and running! my friend has the bigger trim and its ridiculous fast in his s14. can't wait to get it in my light shitbucket hehehe.

yea i haven't been around since i had a few bad car experiences, but ill be around here and there to check things out :) i kept a blog since i bought the car back in june, check out pg 2 of my cardomain.

damn mynismo, it's been forever since I've seen you! Of course I was gone for like a year too, so maybe that's why, lol.

yeah i just did another compression test on my engine before i put in the 615 cc injectors so i can raise the boost up to 13-14psi making 280-300whp on my stock block. even with over 30K miles on the boosted stock block, i'm still getting perfect compression.

and yeah ivan just bent a rod at 505whp, but thats a stock rod on a car that wasn't turboed. that is extremely rugged. plus 500whp is more then what 95% of us would have in our cars. so for stock rods, thats extremely good.

yeah when i get my engine rebuilt, i'll be running 20+ psi and will hopefully get close to 400whp

yea, that is pretty freaking strong for a stock motor that wasn't meant to be turboed. i'd say the safe limit on that motor is in the low 400's. if you build both motors though, they will take whatever you give them :)

no not at all, we know better then that. we both know the each engine's strenght and weaknesses. it all comes down to how you want to spend your money. we were just clearing up certain things for the people who aren't familar with the two engines.

trust me, i hate doing those SR vs. KA threads. if you go the 240 forums, its prohibited to even mention that. lolz

they both have their shortfalls and benefits. its just a matter of which engine you want to have.

hope to post up once i get the car back!!! im hoping to run low 11's with my lsd and some slicks, i don't see why its not possible.
