2001 air box

I just got an 01 GT about a week ago and I love it! I want to drop in a high flow filter but at first glance I realized this isn't a simple air box. Am I being dumb or are there a few steps to opening this up? I came across an istallation guide for an Injen Short Ram and it looked like a pain in the ass just to get the top part of the box open. Am I missing the obvious or are there a few steps?

So I actually used a flashlight to see what I was doing and realized opening a box really isn't that difficult. Sometimes it's the easy things that escape me... :banghead:
