Spring Loaded doors-question

Got the car last summer, has spring loaded doors (no door handles). No probs at all until the cold weather hit. Seems the mechanism doesn't work well in the freezing temperatures. Is there anything that can be done to make the mechanism or stronger? Any idea how much it would be to have door handles installed?

I think I know what the problem is. I'v noticed from time to time in winter that the door is hard to open from freezing. Like if moisture get in the jam and freezes then it takes a nice hard pull of the handle to open it. My guess is when that happens to yours the the door popers arnt quite strong enough to overcome it. see if you can figure out how many pounds yours are rated to push. I know they have them as low as 15 and under all the way upto over 75. Maybe finding some higher number ones would help. peace

you could also use some armor all on your wheather stripping which will help keep it from sticking to the door frame

How hard would this be to set up?? I already have a compustar 2-way alarm and I am sure that I can program one of the buttons for the doors.

thanks
