I know this topic has been brought up before, but I can't find the answer to this specific question.
Can the Bose 6-Disc changer from a 2004 model, be swapped with a Bose 6-disc changer in a 2003 model? (Both Vehicles are Trailblazers)
The reason I am asking is I need one that has a BAND button, not an AM/FM, and a buddy of mine is selling his. (In need the BAND button so I can get an Aux input to work) Thanks!

I know there was a design change sometime in the 2004 model year that went from a class2 compatible amplifier, to a non-class2 amp design. I would guess that with that change, early 04 bose radios were probably compatible with 2003....
So, what's the difference between a "Band" and an "AM/FM" button anyhow? Does the band also control the XM function on compatible radios???

I think that is the case...I have a buddy that has a Z71, and his radio looks identical to mine, with the exception of the BAND button. He does have XM radio as well. If they are the same like I just read, maybe someone would like to trade!! Woo hoo! he he.... I wonder why some come with a BAND button, and others with an AM/FM.
Does anyone have a 2003 that has a BAND button that doesn't have XM radio or anything like that?

The only problem of swapping radios is that you'll have to have the dealer unlock them after they are hooked up in to another car. The radio can read the VIN numbers and will lock up until they are programmed.
