Does anyone know the correct timing for a 1984 S10 2.8 with 5 speed manual trans and 4wd. The lable is missing under the hood and non of the manuals have it. Any help?

Disconnect the timing wire from the PCM under the dash.

Time with a timing gun to zero. Reconnect wire. Reset computer.

Drive and have fun.

 My 1984 S-10 Blazer with a 2.8L V6 4x4, under hood sticker calls for 10' before top dead center. Set timing at running temp, my car is a California car, dont know if yours has all the smog crap on it that California cars are required to have! To set the timing on mine, you have to disconnect a four wire plug that sits behind the distributor and the firewall. Tricky to get to but, on mine......if I dont disconnect the plug, the ECM will be making timing adjustments, and you wont have a stable timing reference to set your initial timing! If yours is equipped with this connector, unplug it before starting engine, set your timing, tighten distributor hold down, recheck timing to make sure it has not shifted, shut down engine, reconnect the four wire connector, that should do it! :eek7:

Thanks for the responses. This truck does not have any ECM stuff. Just miles of vacum hoses. Just an plane carb on top.
