EDIT: Why not just rebuild for more performance?

^Ya I wouldn't perchase a SVT Focus motor you could rebuild what you got make more power and not have to use premuim fuel maybe.

you may want to just swap the 2.3L duratec. Ive never looked at one myself, but im assuming it doesnt have the same motor mount location, axles shafts, etc. SVT motors can be pretty pricey, unless you find one in a junkyard. Still something to consider.

zx2 zetecs are cheap... and good motors.

yeah a 5.0 is about 320hp, for 10k you can have 320WHP less weights and a better handeling car lol

a SVT swap is pointless, a 2.3 is more worthwhile if you wanna go N/A but a stock 2.0 can go 340+whp with a good turbo setup

eh... since when?

the 2.3 head can flow numbers that make the Zetec look stupid and and the regular 2.0 zetec can take more boost then the svt because it already has lower compression, and it has a lot more parts available

ya... but i've never seen a stock 2.0 go 340+whp... don't think i ever will either... you gotta replace rod bolts for sure and no stock head or intake manifold or exhaust or tb or... list goes on and on... none of that can take that much whp period... never.

like i said if you want N/A the 2.3 is worth the swap it can make over 330whp n/a, if you want turbo its cheaper to stay w/ the stock 2.0 zetec maxes about 330 crank.

and i dunno any i4 thst will go over 340whp stock

i do... DSM... good to 600whp.

no way your gona make over 600whp stock, EVERYT DSM i have ever known or heared of over 400whp was NOT still using stock rods and bolts.

edit: that 600 whp # is straight from the webmaster at DSM tuners. i also know a guy who has his GS-X at 500+ hp on stock internals.... w/o his nitrous shot... that guys car is still running too. no rod or piston swap or engine rebuild... hard to argue w/ low 10's you know.

SVT engine way over rated you can make alot more power witht he normal zx3 engine. SVT engine was not built for upgrades (except a sc or turbo) but if u plan on doing cams or anything major they give u very little hp with the svt engine. Stick with the Zetec
