I have a 2001 cherokee and this past few snow storms have been rough on the wipers, the snow built up under them and the motor over heated and tripped the circuit breaker, once it all cooled down , the intermittant mode was gone, any ideas on where to start for a fix of this??, i don't think there is a relay for this with the fuses, what controlls it ??

I think that section of the wiper is built into the motor assembly. Good chance that it fried the circuitry. Might have to look into another wipre motor.

If it's just the intermittent delay setting, good news, it might not be the motor. You might've just fried the switch. Check for continuity between the ground circuit cavity of the wiper switch wire harness connector and a good ground. If there is continuity, might just need to replace the switch. If not, then you'll need to repair the open circuit to ground. Unfortunately you can't repair anything (motor or switches), so you'll have to buy something. Hope its just the switches, I bet that would be cheaper than the motor. Good luck!
