electrical charging problems

Emergency brake light & battery light on dash come on, battery guage drops. When signal light on battery guage drops and raises after signal turned off. Think it's alternator but not sure. Has anyone else had this problem. Ideas? Problem is intermittent.

I just had this happen on my 88 4runner...It was my alternator. The brake light was coming on with the charge light, and the tach would fluctuate with the engine...It left me stranded...cost 120 bucks ....good luck

Thanks for your response. Planning a trip to Alberta and definitely don't want to get stranded.

Alternator! Multiple threads here already describing your exact symptoms.
Inspect the wiring at the alternator too.
