98 tahoe

yes i have a 98 tahoe,the problem imhavingmaybe the fuel filter or maybe something else.i put $25 in gas in it the other day on tuesday and it put the needle to the 3/4 mark,by wednesday afternoon the needle was below the half mark.i can get in it and see where the needle is like maybe the half mark.if i turn it off and crank it back up the needle may be around the 1/4 mark.does anyone have this problem or know what the problem maybe?i dont smell any gas inside the truck,maybe its the fuel filter needing to be changed,i just cant figure it out.need some advice on this.thanks!!!!!121769

I've just finally come to accept that older chevrolet gas gauges measure exponentially--that is the closer it gets to empty the faster that needle moves. It's actually kind of suspenseful to crank out 150 miles with the needle only moving down to 3/4 tank--I always get a little excited for that one time it keeps moving that slow the entire tankful, thus indicating I now have a gas mileage increase of like 1000% since the last fill up....it must be that fuel injector cleaner I added!!!hmmm....
