Hello,
I do most of the maintenance on my Mom's '89 Caprice, 305 W/TBI. Just recently returned it to the road after a engine swap (Same type Eng, used) It ran great... for two days. She was driving uphill when it just died, no sputtering (Her words) nothing, she said it was just like it had been turned off.
I have put in a new fuel pump, filter and checked the pressure, Which is within specs. So there is gas up to the TBI, but there is no spray, no clicking from either Injector... not even a dribble. If you prime the TBI or spray starting fluid in it, it fires right up!, until the gas or starting fluid is gone. I unbolted the two ground straps that go from the body to block, and sanded all surfaces, just to be sure that it wasn't a bad ground. Then I bought a noid light, unplugged one inj and cranked the motor... no flash, same with the other. but I do get some voltage reading with a volt meter. I have also looked over all the wiring, but I have not done any type of resistance check... Wouldn't have a clue where to start either
I am at my wits end, with this car.
I would be very grateful of any and all help and suggestions

Several things. Sometimes a failure of an oil pressure switch will cause this. Sometimes and ECM failure.

Does your fuel pump relay click when you turn the key [on right wheel well behind overflow tank] if so check Orange/black wire running towards dash from relay for voltage not thr run that goes to oil pressure switch, also check the black/white from relay goes to ground +Ecm make sure this ground is clean and tight WITH KEY OFF

One other thing. On GM fuel injection, the ECM will not fire the injectors if it doesn't see a ref. pulse from the distributor.

The Orange/black wire is the ref /pulse to Ecm I hope you have checked your 7.5 amp fuse in fuse block [under l/s flasher marked IGN1 the 3 amp is for cranking 7.5 for fuel injectors] The red and white wires run from F/block to seperate injectors
