i was definately in the car, and so was my minature dachshound named 'Hennessey'. after we raced the corvette, my dog barked out the window at them "whos your daddy bitch"
we couldn't figure out if it was stock or not, it was definately a yellow c5, not a z06, but it had some crazy hood on it so who knows. i can never get the good races like my brother does, i always get the fart pipes when he gets the 05 gts and 03 cobras and z06s and c5s and lexus's but he did get smoked by a crossfire

yes formula i know, but it just makes me feel good to know that i smoked the big daddy like that. i mean, it wasn't just a little pull. we raced trhee times. the first time, he jumped me, got about 3 car lengths in front of me, then i started creeping back up on him. then we got caught behind some traffic and some left lane minivan hogs. after we got past them, i pulled up next to him in the left lane, doing about 75 mph or so, and we both hit it at exactly the same time, from about 75 to about 135 or so, i had pulled ahead about two car lengths in front of him before i slowed down. then we slowed down for a minute, exchanged some hand signals and some words out the window. then i guess he wanted to try one more time, because he just took off, and jumped me, and it took me a sec to realize it, then i had to manually downshift with my auto-tranny, by then he was already two car lenghts in front of me, but when i finally hooked, i started catching back up a little, then i had to get off at my exit.
It was a really good race tho.

road or drag. im not surprised that someone can kill a vette straight on, their not designed for that. im talkin has someone tried to tail a vette goin down the windy back roads and been able to keep up.

nope. just on a straightaway. i have seen a c5 and a 98 trans am going at it on a windy mountain road the vette did cut the curves alot better than the t/a, it was fish tailing around the curves. the vette never slipped a tire

Good kill man. Now im not trying to take anything away from it but what ever happen to good old drag racing. Whats this from a roll crap. IT seems that every race that i have read about now adays is from a roll. There is nothing like a true drag race. Thats where its all at. From a dead stop is the only time the playing field is even.

haven't had my car dyno'd yet, but i have a feeling with the low end torque that i gained from the headers and the programmer combination, and as much as i pulled on him from the roll, i could have taken him from the line too. but who knows, your right, the only fair race is from a dead stop. just have to wait and see

yeah from the roll is good only when u have 2 real high top end cars like a ferrari and a viper or some crazy shit like that from a roll even in a z or an ss u will reach your top speed much faster and its null and void. from 0-100, now thats when u see if u are the one rape'en or the raped!
LS1MAN
02-14-2005, 08:58 PM
well mine is a custom vin specific tuner. i had to call superchips and give them my vin number, and explain to them all of my mods , headers, exhaust, intake, thermostat, etc... etc... and they write a custom program for your car. whenever you add more mods to your car, you can have them update your program for free. This is really efficient, since instead of generic tuner settings, like the hypertech, it is custom programmed to match your specific setup. i can attest to the fact that you can really feel the difference with this thing.

Well you're half right. :eek7:
The 1st-gen crx (84-87) uses a torsion-beam front setup with a solid beam axle in the rear.
The 2nd-gen crx (88-91) uses double wishbones in the front and has a multi-link independent rear setup.
Guess its a good thing I got the 2nd gen crx then.

To be completely honest I hate this new from a roll trend too. You always here people say we raced twice once from the line and then from a roll. What the hell, if you can take them off the line and pass them and stay past them. I find that a better race but like was said on highways/parkways, thats not a option.

Thats real street racing? Like the old days?. I'm lost have you never heard or seen how they dragged in the old days?. Unless your taking about a couple of months ago as the old days. No one use to street race like that. 2 cars would line up. A person would stand in the center and drop a whote flag or there hands and they would take off from the line. There were no do over's from a roll. Who ever won from the line, Won thats all but I think you could have taken the Vette from the line anyway..

Cars accelerate more freely and faster from a idle than a preset RPM. Your gearing at that speed gives you more of a advantage than power(for the most part) from a roll.
