Ok, as some of you know by now, ive had my '92 RS for a couple months now and i bought it from my friend's impound where it sat for 3 years, never moving.
Well, ive managed to change out all the fluids, repair all of the rat-destroyed hosing and electrical, replaced a couple filters, put a new starter in it, had a key made and etc...
But now..................
Ive got a whole new world of hurt to deal with.
My TBI is getting NO pressure. None.
When i turn it over (thanks to the new battery) it will attempt to crank and will sound pretty healthy. But nothing will happen.
(such a shock since theres no fuel getting to the system)
Ive got gas in the system and the fuel pump engages every time i turn that key, but still no pressure in the system.
Could it be a clogged fuel filter?
I want this sucker done tonight if possible.

yeah the fuel filter or lines could be clogged up and/or a weak fuel pump..
try pouring a little fuel down the throttlebody manually to get it running, and sometimes it will start drawing fuel again

If it starts once u put some fuel in the thottle body then you will know its somewhere in either the lines or the filter. Either way it would be wise to replace the fuel filter, lines dont normally go bad like that but you never know if it was in impound it could have bottomed out on the tow truck crimping the line closed.

Well, i put some starter fluid in it and that worked and fired it up, marking the very first time ive ever heard her run >happy tear< at least only for a second, then i tried feeding it fuel in the same way and that worked too, just for a second or two.
does that mean its for sure a problem with the fuel filter?
im lifting the car right now to get to it... so get back to me. thx

it means your problem is somewhere from your fuel lines back to your tank.... so either cloged/pinched lines, plugged filter, or bad pump

ok... i just loosened the fuel filter and activated the fuel pump with the ignition, but there was still no change in pressure...
and the very last thing i want it to be is the fuel pump (which it probably is) so is there any way it could just be a vapor pocket somewhere in the line? or does it need to be primed? if so, how do i do that?

the fuel pump should prime ..... when u turn the key and hear the pump buzz... thats the pump priming the fuel system

thats what i thought...
and we started the ignition just to turn over the fuel pump at least 3 dozen times, so we know it would be working by now if that was the only problem.
i guess im just gonna hafta deal with a new one...
i could use that info on my new thread "Plz let this be the problem...."
thx guys
