Maxima V6 into a Stanza?

 Looking to swap the 2.4L out of my 90' Stanza and drop in a 97'+ Nissan Maxima V6. 250HP here I come :).

I'm hoping to get the engine and manual transmission from a local salvage yard. Anyone know of any problems that I'm going to run into? Will I have to get the computer out of a Maxima too?

Has anyone attempted such a thing? Right now I have just made the body on my Stanza near flawless... and it's ready for paint. I have also been buying parts for a slamming stereo. Now I just need a wing and a 250HP engine to back it up. :)

Let me know if ya have any ideas for me. And no, I don't want to buy a new car. :finger:

Not to be rude but dont waist your time. With the amount of money it will cost to do the swap. You could be driving in a sweet 3rd or 4th generation Maxima.

Really think it would cost that much? I mean the body on my car is near flawless, and I just got done investing like $2500 into the stereo. :)

I was looking to do the swap for around $2500.

I can get the engine and tranny for $1750, so that leaves me with about $750 to get it in there...

Yes,It would cost alot more than that.Plus you would have to try and get around the fitment of the V6 into your engine bay.I dont think the hood would be tall enough for the motor.Check out the For Sale section on Maxima.org you can probably find a cheap 92-94 SE 5speed for around 4K then take your stereo out and transfer it over.I think the engine swap would cost you around 5-6K easy if not more.A while back I was looking into a doin a VQ swap which is the motor from the 95+ maxima which has a little more torque than mine and it was getting into the 3K+ price range. And my tranny is the same as the VQ motor and the size of the VQ is smaller than mine.I saw a 92SE (but make sure you get the VE30DE motor) on the for sale section of maxima.org for like 4K. :bandit:
