I was thinkin bout buyin an AEM High Flow Fuel Rail and FPR. I hear that both do not give any signifigant horsepower increases. Is this true to any extent? I thought i read a site that said that each will give an average of 8 horsepower increase. Let me know whats good. If i buy both its going to be in the next 2 days so get at me.

sounds like a lie, all the fuel rail does is allow fuel to go to the injectors, if anything its the injectors thatll make more hp(via better spray pattern or whatever). the stock rails are fine.
the fpr can make some power by allowing more fuel, and is a good investment for future tuning. if you dont want to cut the stock fpr(BM fpr), then definantly go for the AEM.

yeah i duno bout that site i read up on. I was talkin to my friend about it and he made me think bout if that site was rite or not. but im just lookin for somin cheap (not brand just mod) that will give me around 5-8 horsepower b/c im thinkin i need that much to get me into the 14.8s-14.9s

an aem and afr are all for tuning pretty much, you stick a part on your car and you need more fuel so you turn your fpr up to get more fuel.
i think of this way as a bad way to tune. but im the kind of guy that says do it right the first time

i have them on my b16. its not gonna do anything noticeable. the AEM rail is capable of flowing more fuel than the stock rail, but it wont be max flowed unless you have a larger fuel pump. and even then it wont matter unless you are turbo or supercharged and can get enough air in to the mix. the fuel pressure regulator can get you a small gain if you raise the pressure, if you have a few mods like intake and header to help the engine breathe better.

it's hard to get something for under $200 that is GUARANTEED to get you at least 5 hp. And what have you done to your car already? I'd suggest getting a cold air intake, that would help your throttle response. If you're not going forced induction, extra fuel is almost useless. People with turbo/supercharger add extra injectors and pump extra fuel because of the higher pressure.
But the bottom line is...
For small gains, try I/H/E first
For big gains, try I/H/E first, and then save up and go big with either an engine swap or forced induction

I have CAI,High flow cat, CAT back exhaust, retarded distributor, spark plug wires....i want headers but the greddy headers are $375. I might just take my $200 and sit on it till i get the rest for headers. I just want somin to give me 5 hp by time the track opens so i can def be in the 14's. After i get headers where should i go from there? I know after the track closes im takin my car off the road again and doin the mini me head swap so what else should i do for this summer?

you stated your car has a retarded distributor? if the car is currently NA, its better to have it stock or advanced. retarding the timing is usually for when you have FI.

ok you all are startin to piss me off. I ran at a track in MD 75-80. And i put on a GReddy MX Exhaust and a high flow cat. And the online calculator that said i would run a 15.8 with just my muffler and intake now says that i will run a 15.2 with my exhaust and cat. Seeing out i crushed the time from my muffler im thinking that if i get another 5 hp then the online calc will put me around a 15.1 so therefor going by how i was at the track with just my muffler and intake i think i can break into the 14's. So dont hate just cuz you dont think its possible. I wish the track would open up soon so i can take a pic of the dam slip and post that on here. Its not a matter of what the hell i ran it started out as a matter of if the fuel rail and FPR will help me out and then it turned into what can give me around 5 hp for cheap. not any ghetto riged shit either. And i really dont care if you believe what i ran. For all i can you can think i ran a 17.2 and im tryin to break into the 16's. and if you dont believe me than stop posting.

you cant rely on a online calculator because it doesnt account other factors(ie traction, temp, humidity, etc.)

aight damm...well i 60' was 2.3. and i know the 1/4 calculator is bs. i just did it to say what it said. it said i would run 15.8 and i ran 15.5 so yeah its bs. i ran better than what it says. So if i ran 15.5 with just muffler and intake you dont think that a A6 will run 14's with high flow cat, cat back exhuast and SOMETHING ELSE. Thats what im looking for is SOMETHING ELSE to get, not to sit here and argue about what i ran.

For 5hp for under $200...hmm I'd say advance your ignition timing, take off your a/c belt, take some weight out of the car, pass seat, interior in the back, misc shit. You should be able to get a light tune on your car at a dyno for $200 too.....All that should be near 5hp

Not really. How could it? If you ask me, FPR and fuel rail is also a total waste of money. Hondas run rich from the factory. Rich is okay, lean is bad so thats the reasoning behind it.
Breather mods (intake/header/exhuast) are not something that requires more fuel like forced induction of some sort, or a bigger more agressive cam that will also require more fuel to make its power.
I wouldn't count on reaching 14s with a few more HP. With a 2.2 60' I'm hitting 14.9s with around 92-93mph. I'm making a little more power than 120 flywheelHP you may be getting near with basic bolt ons on a stock SOHC.

Aight imma break all this down. And i dont have a scanner. When i went to the track and ran whats on dragtimes.com i had an AEM CAI, Muffler, NGK wires, double plat. plugs, retarded dist., Eibach Coilover (lowered 1.7 ft 1.5rr), Integra LS wheels, Yokohama ES100 195/50/15R, Short shifter, Castrol Synthetic oil, and im pretty sure thats it. Since then i put on a GReddy MX exhaust, and a high flow cat. So "I" figure that with the exhaust and cat i should get somewhere along the lines of 15 hp. I dont think thats to high of an estimate. And i checked the POS 1/4 calc that said that i would run a 15.8 last summer and i crushed that time and now the calc says i should run a 15.2. So i figure with the % error that it had last summer i might be into the 14's. And i want somin that will give me a bs 5 hp to help me chances a lil more. Weather or not i do it i duno. Theres no dam reason to get so pissy about it. If you dont believe that i ran a 15.5 last summer thats good. If you dont think ill run 14's with exhaust, cat and somin else to give me 5 hp then good. Out of 5 runs my best were 15.5, 15.7 & 15.8. pretty consistant. i duno. Ave. 15.66. So either way a good time to me.

a exhaust wont give you that much without a header. since the header is coming right off the engine, itll effect the engine more then a cat-back exhaust. if you can save a little more, try to find a used aftermarket header like a bisimoto or something(or if your cheap, just cut the collector to the size of your pipes). also try to get your timing advanced, youre actually losing hp if you retard in a NA motor.

What motor and mods do you have in your car? And what times do you run?
I'm proud of my civic! I have a stock D16a6 with 205,000 miles and it burns oil at high rpm! Mods? I've never been to the track, but I think i run mid 17's at about 65 mph! Yeayyya!
But really guys, lets all take it easy. Everyone is trying to help out - we're all civic lovers here :)

Eye runned 14.9@93mph with my best 2.2 60'. B16A with an exhaust and K&N drop-in filter.

And SiZ...do you know outa curriosity how much more the B1 weight then the d16? I've heard its a few 100 lbs heavier but i can see how.

dude you act like a mini me swap is hte hardest thing in the world. its just a head swap. my borther could do it.
and for your info.
im running a d15b7 with the stock dpfi and an intake. clocking 17.815 @ 75.575. incase you didnt know, the d15b7 came from the 5th gen dx, lx's so i had to do something called a motor swap
