CD player???

sorry i have an Eclipse so i dont know to much about Focuses. but does anyone know how to get stock 6 disc cd player out of the dash??? i know how, but i was more wondering where the clip things are on the center peice that comes out, so i dont break it in the process of trying to get it out thanks everyone!

I can tell you how to get the single CD player out, but the 6 disc is beyond me. Maybe try calling Crutchfields to see it there tech support can tell you, or a Haynes manual.

well i just need to get the center panel that the cd player is in, out.... do u know how to get that off? b/c im sure its just a few screws holding the CD player its self in like 4ish maybe.... thanks!

If you're talking about the smooth grey thing, then I don't really have any idea how to get it off...I checked my Haynes manual, and that had nothing. I'm really sorry that I cant be of any more help, but maybe someone else can...I think that Crutchfield's is probably your best bet for help.

if you're talking about the stock cd player all you need to do is get the keys and pop the player out. you don't even need to take ANYTHING apart. the aftermarket receiver with the install kit should just slide into the space where the old stock one was, push it in until it locks. hope that helps.

what do u mean keys? like the car keys? lol or is there a certain tool u use to pop it out? thanks!

You just want to get out the actual radio unit? I thought that you wanted to take off the grey panel surronding it...lol
To take out the stock radio, you just need a set of DIN removal tool things (they have a more proper name, but if you go to a parts store and ask for DIN radio removal tools, they can help you) You just put the tools into the holes towards the edge of the stocker, push them so that they snap into place, then lightly pull the tools outward and the radio will pop out of place.

Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread i got the CD player out and it is now fixed! THANK YOU soo much everyone who helped. but man it would be soooo easy for someone to steal a radio out of a focus! all they have to do is buy those tools! damn lol im glad i have an Eclipse lol
