Im minding my own business listening to green day only going like 8 over. I see two cars approaching pretty fast. At first i thought hey maybe a stock V6 Stang or Maro...then i heard them and i was like god dangit...so the loud one pulled up on my right side and kept going the LOUDER one pulled up on my left side and stayed there... and its not one of those just mormal louds...its one of those CRAZY loud semis with the exhaust out the side just about ear height. Anyways he gets beside me and he guns it I looked down at gas gauge and went ummmm no. As he took off and got to maybe 100 I see some red and blue lights come on behind me and i wouldnt have been surprised if he didnt pass me at like 110-120. Not only one but BOTH of the Civics got pulled over.Comes out that one goes to my school and he knew my car...now at school on friday he makes up some crazy story about how his car smoked my 240 and he almost got away form the cops...Dang I hate most of them

BTW I hate when people's excuse for not racing is "I'm low on gas," Its the lamest excuse ever.

It was saturday night and I have exactly no money on me my bank isnt open on Sundays and i dont ahve a debit card... so no way of getting money...I only had like 65 miles in the tank on a light foot...and its not like i said "Nah, man i aint got the gas to do it..." I really prob would have raced him if i didnt have work the next day...about 50 mile round trip...soooooo not really enough gas to be hot rodding it...

my mom got hit by a cop who once who was merging onto the freeway hit her. He tryed to blame it on her, we went to court for it and won. The reason it came to be his fault was he didnt have his lights on, hahaha. It was a shitty night, my sister was on her way to a concert too. Moral of the story, yeah cops do shit like that..lol.

No the cop passed me at 100 and the 1st civic passed at like 85-90.

no shit, it was raining out today, and a guy i know (hes a big fat short guy, he looks like a goober) thought he would be cool and follow me around town, i was like alright buddy... then i stopped and asked him if he wants to race, he was like hell yea i just got my muffler on yesterday, and revs it up, i was like DAMN DUDE that thing must haul balls, he was like, yea its pretty fast, i was like.. shit well i got $5 that i still beat you, he was like deal. so i went out to my normal deserted race spot, while he followed me, we turned around and the other kid in his car started to count down, the i launched at like 2.3k and got off the line real quick, and he fuckin revs it to the rev limiter and drops the clutch, and smokes em for like 3 seconds straight.
ends up i beat him by like, 10 car lengths or so, probably more like 13-14.
of course he sped off and i chased him until he stopped and told him he owes me $5 or im gonna beat the shit out of him at school.

I've seen respected civic drivers here and there... but i'd have to agree.. it's very rare.

Shit guys... I drive a Civic.

Why not? Easy to work on, parts are cheap, insurance is near nothing, and I get somewhere around 26mpg.

Now I've had my share of sports cars... Three Zed32 300ZedX's. I simply got tired of having to pay for 93octane, sick of having to put her up on jacks everyother day to fix small problems that shouldn't of been happening. Having to pay that massive insurance every month... I just got sick of it, and it wasnt practical at that point of my life.

Not all Civic drivers are ricers... I actually am trying to make mine look, and sound as stock as possible.

Very well put. But I'd have to say even looking at a stock civic makes me sick to my stomach...it just reminds me of rice. Those ricers have totally changed my viewpoints on civics. Yeah, they probably are pretty good cars, but I still wouldn't drive one just because of the rice-factor.

I said the same thing dude... I was (and still am) a die hard Zed Head... But whenever my brother moved to New York, and needed to sell his car fast. I picked it up for $2,200, an its worth about $4,800. So I did, thinking practically and everything.

And to my surprise... The car was a joy to drive. I couldnt believe how fun it was. What really got me is when I did my first quick shift into second, and the tires broke loose again... I said to myself 'What the Hell was I downing?'

So we started working on it... Megan Headers, Accel 9.9mm wires, fabricated intake with heatshield/air box, deleted catalytic converter, straight back exhaust (with no muffler, it just ends over the rear control arms). And next step is fully built head :evillol:

Shaved (which will bring the compession ratio up to 9.5:1... Oooo baby dont be so mean :D ) three angle valve job, titanium valve springs, new guides, valves, etc. Basically after that is done, I'll be able to rev safely into 9,000RPM.

And with the V-AFC (VTEC-Air Fuel Controller) handling it all... It should be a real fun car.

So I've been converted... I still hate rice, and I will NEVER be a part of it... But I drive a Shitvic.

I keep an open mined about cars, but still I don’t like the civic. The chasse is wake (except for the EG6 or EG8 (the hatch rules!)

My friend has a hatch 97 and he did his homework on suspension… it cost him a gang of money.

My 240 with stock suspension (back then) kept up with him in the sharp turns (we go to twisty rods for joy ride sometimes) but he was faster at high-speed turns (my bushing where stock and my suspension is stock, I would not want to go any faster!)
But now, I upgraded the suspension and the busing, I have no problem keeping up with him. I have to say dough; I love the fact that he can hold the rpm at 8500.


Anyways, SMALL FF cars are good, Not the sedan!

i just got done driving some gay 96' auto civic for 2hours on my driving test. i hated it the whole time, and whoever mentioned the steering wheel being small was right, i noticed that.

true the hatchbacks can look nice. the new Si's suck balls tho. The Type-R civic in japan pushes 200 bhp... that's pretty impressive for a N/A on such a small car.

Don't bag on 4-door Civics. How many of you are running consistant low 14's with stock steelie 13" wheels and shitty tires on an NA Honda motor in a 4-door Civic. I am. And when I finish it, high 12's will probably be the standard. Oh yeah, NA.

Yo nothing is wrong with the motor. V-tec is very impressive... we're just complaining about the reputation the name "honda civic" has within the racing scene.

Yeah, some Hondas are cool, I mean if 240s didn't exist, I wouldn't mind having a CTR or an ITR, it would kick ass, but no bodykit, no chrome rims, no neon exhaust tip, it would be clean and quick and nimble.

Hit N Run-player, I have an LS/Vtec with PR3 pistons and a fuel pressure regulator, and stock exhaust. When the motor was a stock LS/Vtec it made 168.7whp. The pistons I put in raised the compression from 9.6:1 to 11.5:1 so I imagine I'm around 180-190whp. I don't have a video camera, but I do have time slips. My Civic is my race car, so it pretty decent and not the typical crappy shitvic. It's a nice sleeper, nobody thinks a 4-door would be fast.

I already have intake but yeah, header and exhaust is in the future along with a port and polish, dual valve springs and titanium retainers. I believe Hondas are made to be NA, so I keep it that way. Plus if you have a good NA setup you walk all over turbo Hondas on the street. While they're trying to hook up, you are already car lengths ahead. You just make sure to shut it down before they have time to catch up. Freeway racing is a bummer though.

Yeah, that is why i asked. Most people will boost their engines, and i was thinking why would he buy such high comp pistons. But that sounds like a good plan for your car. n/a drag cars are always cool, when they are fast at least.

I'm building it for autocross and track racing. It won't be a drag car but I will probably get some drag radials so I can kick ass there too. I will hopefully be in the high 12's when everything is done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, for a long time because it's such a slow process fixing up my car.

I have the T28 BB now but still, I was boosting (0.8) on the T25, I should have had like 250hp to the wheels…
All the Hondas I raced (no H22 motor) I beaten (the 2 crx’s had piping don to them)
