Hi,
just saw this post,
please consider getting the 6.0 liter engine.
It comes in the 1/2 ton Yukon XL Denali and the 3/4 ton models (Yukon XL and Suburban).
Mine has the 4.10 rear end, which is a litle zippier than the 3.73 rear.
This way you can also get the liftgate problem solved.
P.S.
GM has crate engines up to 600 CID.
What would you do with the drivetrain?

So on this thread... I have a 1994 Suburban 5.7l v8 and a new travel trailer that is too much for this engine. How easy would it be to swap a different engine (possibly the diesel) in from a more modern era with the tuned intake, port injection, all the goodies... If anyone has any experience with a swap like this please post!

Hi,
you have to be very determined as all the electronics, computers, wiring harnesses are completely different.
How about switching vehicles? Would be a lot easier and probably cheaper.
