If the model year in that slide show is accurate, that would make Lauren's high-mirrored F1 chassis #055. The other F1 he reportedly owns is chassis #074 and that car was built in 1997.
Hopefully we'll get some decent photos of #055 during it's stay at the museum.

Chris,
Have you checked about cameras at MFA? Their website says something about "no flash cameras". I should call them but don't have the time or I keep forgetting.
This MFA event is HUGE around here. Every major and minor car club is talking about it. It's great timing too as this area lost its own Concours d' Elegance a few years ago. We still have car shows but not quite approaching a major Concours.

Are all of these cars Ralph Lauren's? I thought I had read that that Blower Bentley was part of the McCaw collection. Otherwise, an unbelievable collection of cars. I didn't know that RL had a DROPHEAD Bugatti 57SC!

Yeah, i heard that too. I'll have my D70 by then so i'll have to make up for the flash with some changes to the exposure etc.

First of all, the catalog is available now at www.mfa.org.
Second, if you look under the FAQ, you'll see that special exhibitions seem to be excluded from the policy of allowing non-flash photography. I'm guessing there will be a no-picture policy. They want to sell slides and catalogs after all.
Thanks for the Bugatti pics Drewwmts. I'm curious too, is that his garage? I can see a 300SL in the background, and in the very back, an ivory white cabriolet (which I think I saw once at the Manhattan store on the Upper East Side).
If you read the description of the catalog, there are 29 cars in the exhibit! I'm wondering if the NART Spyder he owns will also be there. I knew he owned a nice collection, but it's even more spectacular than i'd heard before.

There will be 16 cars in the exhibit, but the catalog will include most of the cars in Lauren's collection.
I'm not sure I'll make the show, but I'm definitely buying the catalogue.

From a British website:
"I don't recommend camera phones since the resolution is still lacking. Perhaps in a couple of years. For now, your mobile phone is better of being used as a distraction while you get a nice, but small, digital camera. Scout around before you start taking pictures, so you know what you want pictures of, what's safe, what's risky, and what you will need help with.
Just turn off the flash and sound and take pictures discreetly. Play with the exposure and speed settings beforehand to see what works, and take hundreds of pictures to get a few good ones. Practice holding your camera steady, and use other people for "cover" so staff can't see you. It's important to move your head around and otherwise give the impression that you are doing anything but taking pictures. Pretend to talk on the mobile phone or engage in conversation, all the while busily snapping away.
Best thing is to stand with arms folded, with the camera held by one hand and hidden in the crook of the other arm's elbow. You can also rest it on objects to steady it, then hide it from most angles of view with a shopping bag or something equally innocuous. Worst case, or if you must use the flash, just blitz away and as they throw you out, keep snapping away, paparazzi style. If your camera's flash takes a while to charge, create a fuss so that you can get at least two more snaps in...a friend of mine even had them chasing him around for a few minutes, and he got a real keeper while on the run, dodging around some priceless artifacts."
LOL!!!!!
