im cruising home last night after being at my girls house and i see this g35 along the side of me. i guess he was trying to get around the person coming up so he cuts in front of me and couldnt get back in the left lane. i play it cool and just remain where i was, not pulling back or anything. im sitting there and finally he gets back into the left lane and turns off going at least 60. meanwhile a cop has pulled up behind me getting extremely close. i knew i was fucked. so i slow from about 53 to about 48 and hit cruise control. i sit there letting him do his thing and...tada on come the lights. i pull off and he approaches me...yada yada yada...fill in some bullshit here....i got a $120 ticket for "following too closely". He said "you were about 2" from his bumper" BS...about 3/4 car

I want to see someone slam the brakes when the cops get extremely close.

lol i know people who have slamed on the brakes when the cops were tailgating them. One guy got a ticket for reckless driving, the other just got a warning.

I've always wondered what would happen if the cop actually hit you. Does anyone know...it would be their fault wouldn't it?

no it wouldnt. you could get many tickets from that. reckless driving, inciting an accident, drive unsafe for conditions. All the officer has to say is your tag wasnt properly displayed making it unlegible from the required distance. you CANT beat them on this. your only hope would be no damage and you get a nice guy that is apologetic and lets you go.

thats one thing i hate, the cops will always win no matter what. thats why ive never even bothered challenging a ticket. and women...i know chicks that have gotten pulled over so many times but havent ever gotten a ticket. thats a profession i wouldnt mind...a cop

i still think it would be funny if the cop hit you. say a cat ran in front of you or something. or you had an epaleptic(?spelling) seizure. i want to see someone on the street with a 700+hp car pull next to a cop at a light rev at the cop a little and just nail it when it turns green.

Hey, slamming the brakes on them is just revenge for them stalking you for a half hour late at night. :)
GOD I hate when they just wait for you to make a mistake...

if they stalk you to make a mistake, then just pull into the nearest shopping center, or fast food joint and act like you're looking for something in your glove box, or looking at a map.

Just look lost, or occupied.

They should leave you alone.

its part of the job...... yes they stereotype and any police officer that says they dont stereotype and are unbiased are liars. every officer does. there are good and bad ways to do it though. a good officers knows when to act on something and know when to just watch

I dunno, I feel spoiled. My dad was a cop, and he basically tought me all they're tricks. Thats whay I love about being in MO. For example, if they follow you and wait for you to do somtin wrong, or if they hids off the road running radar, its thrown out for entrapment. They also cant use cammeras or air patrol. But you gotta watch out sometimes, becuase if I cop really wants to get you, he can. For example, if he pulls ya over, and nothing's wrong, he can just tap your rear light with the night stick, knock it off a bit, and say, well, your rear lights out. My dad said that alota states also have reason to believe laws, where, if they even think that you may have something ilegal in or done to your car, they can pull you over and search it. Of course, this was back in the late 80's early 90s in Michigan and Dallas.

no shit! kudos to the man who lines up to the cop! if my record was clean i would. even if you get reckless driving you can almost always get it dropped to disorderly conduct with a m/v just a fine 2 points (wisconsin)

If they stalk you, just pull over and go in a store or something. Or go use the bathroom in a fast food place. And if you challenge a ticket you have a really good chance of getting the fine reduced or the cop not even showing up to court. It's always well worth it.

Or do what I do. Put stuffed animals in your back window. I did 85 past a cop and I wasnt pulled over, and I recently was doing 40 above the limit and have yet to be pulle over. Granted I now drive slowly because Im sure Im gona be.....

For some reason I find that funny... I dont know, no one realy wants to pull over my car anyways, its not as if it goes fast. And one of the stuffed animals is Cthulu dressed in hawaiin gear and the other is a racoon that just showed up there, so its not alot. ...
yeah.... theres goes my credibilty on this fourm....

Look up HP lovecraft(the author). Cthulu is an elder god, and he is made fun of often in science fiction fairly often.

so following someone "about" 3/4 a car length at 60 mph isnt too close to you? Face it, you got a ticket because you were doing something stupid, accept it and move on.

Agreed, 3/4 car is too close at any speed above 20.

If I were you I'd still try to fight the ticket, at least you tried. The most you'll loose is like $20 for court fees, at least that's how much it costs in Michigan.

yeah, if you get pulled over for any reason, try and be a model citizen. smile, be happy. alot of times i got pulled over *back in the day before i opened my eyes* i acted casual and greeted the officer before he had a chance to say anything. never once a ticket. nice and simple, dont make him worry. keep your hands on the steering wheel until he gets there, dont dig for your insurance and what not, he may thing you are hiding something. also, if you arent very memorable and the cop decides to give you a ticket, contest it on the last possible day you can. If you were a model citizen and not memorable, he wont be able to say without a shadow of a doubt that he remembers you in court, and the ticket will be dropped.

ill admit it was something stupid. and it was a little close but he could gave me a ticket for something better. that was the best he could come up with. i was going about 40mph. but before i approached traffic i was going about 65. needless to say that this was in a 89 buick lesabre

How do you get rid of the fuzz on the freaking highway? I live in the middle of nowhere and the cops are all over the highways at night, just waiting for me to come home from Ames. I'm all alone with like 3 cop cars tailing me almost every night! It's like they're vultures just waiting for me to die out there... yeesh. I just had to vent, sorry.
