I think the pump is around 370.00.
I would just install it your self.
It's not hard to do.

when you replace the pump, you should replace the fuel filter also. It would be my guess that adding a fuel cell would be more work than replacing the pump, unless you just plan on putting the cell in the bed of the truck.

and if you bought a fuel cell and put in it you would still have to buy a fuel pump ........

That's what I was thinking. You have to have a fuel pump in order pump the gas. I think you're friend may be a little slow or something. Or just not know what the hell he is talking about. Plus fuel cells usually don't allow for as much gas capacity.

That just seems really expensive for a fuel pump. I dont remember what I paid for mine a while back, but I dont think it was anywhere near that much.

Go to www.rockauto.com. I wasn't sure about the details of your truck, but the 3/4 ton with the 6.0L engine had the most expensive fuel pump for $260

I'm doing a fuel cell/ inline pump setup, but I don't know if you want to go that route. I'm doing it because since I have to have a fuel tank, I might as well have it mounted over my rear tires for added traction. The only time I would go with a fuel cell/inline pump setup is if you're really needing the extra fuel/fuel pressure. Otherwise, just get a stock replacement. Of course, only my :2cents:
