Have now blown 3 of 4 speakers on the 4 speaker system. 1st was warranty. Should I replace the other 2 OEM or go aftermarket?

Thanks.

are you out of warranty? if so you would be better served buying aftermarket cost will be about the same and quality is certainly going to be greater

I wouldn't go as far as to say that. It really depends on the system you have. I just replaced the left front door speaker in my '01 LS. It cost me $22 from Ford. I have the Alpine 6-disc system with 8 speakers, I think it is. Through the shop I work at, we get 20 % off list, so it wouldn't cost you much more. I'm not sure for that price you would get a speaker that would be much better and matched to your system. There are more expensive speakers through Ford. As I said, it depends on your system. If your speakers are two way then you'll probably spend about $60 each through Ford. Mine aren't because the door speakers are mid-range only. The tweeters are mounted in the center console.

I just took out all 4 of my speakers from my 2000 ls, they all worked great. I will get rid of them cheap if you want them.

I can recommend the Alpine SPS-507a. I've got four of them in mine and they have performed flawlessly for three years of daily, year 'round use. I drive...alone on the highway...about 1 hour a day, so my stereo is my best friend away from home. Bass response is very respectable for door-mounted 5x7. Mids and highs are clear and crisp, if just ~slightly~ sibilant in the top range. Their natural response is very well suited to use in conjunction with an electronic crossover and subwoofer. I wanted to maintain maximum trunk use, so I don't have a sub, but...well...there you go.
