My fiero sounds like it has Tonka tires?

It is not the tires because they are new and had them balances. The sound was from before I purchased them. Could it be in the trans-axle? I don't even know if that's what it is called. Some bars that go from the tranny to the wheels. I'm not a mechanic, but I try to fix what I can and if I can't I get one. I just want any leads possible to check on my car.

the "bars" are the Constant Velocity Shafts, they go from the transaxle to the wheels.

the cv joints could be worn or the wheel bearings.
