I plan on buying rims for my 96 Maxima. My mother is concerned with the ride of the car and wont let me go any bigger then 16 inch rims. That kinda upsets me lol.. but anyway how do you feel this will look on the car with low profile tires, and without. Please respond. Thank you...

I had a 98' SE with the 16" alloys (5 sided star design) from the factory. If I remember correctly the tires were 225/55 16 in size from the factory, they filled the wheel wells ok - I like the 17" upgrade myself, but the 16" ones from the factory were nice , handled well, and gavce the car good overall handling.

my brother has a 1997 max with 17 inch rims with low profiles and to tell you the truth they look like bike tires!

you should just get a nice set of oem 17" maxima rims from your nissan dealership. i don't see why your parents would object to a rim that comes that size from the factory. low profiles aren't gonna look great IMO, especially if the car isn't lowered, then it'll look like a 4x4.

I'm with BP on this one. OEM 17's. Also the 16 inch 5 spokes that came on the 00-01's are nice too.
