normal oil psi?

hey about to buy a autometer sport comp oil psi, the electric one. anyway it only goes up to 100psi. whats normal for our cars when your not driving the shit out of them. also what is normal oil psi when you are driving the shit out of them. and finally what is the most oilpsi you will need to read on a guage. thanks

At cruise I have noticed mine as high as 50psi. Start up my pressure is always at 100psi and higher RPM the psi will be higher. At cruise on the highway, say 80mph, it is around 80psi on my gauge. Idle it is around 20-25psi.

Yes. Being over 100 psi with cold oil is normal.
PEople revving to very high rpms (over 8500-9000) are also getting oil pressure over 100 psi. Its basically boost creep for your oil, and some porting of the oil filter housing needs to be done. If the pressure gets high enough it pumps the lifters up and valves touch pistons. But at any rate, all gauges go to 100 psi, so none of this matters anyway :)

i just bought an autometer carbon fiber oil gauge off ebay but accedently bought the mechanical one by mistake. i sent them an email to see if i could pay the $12 diffrence for the electronic one. so much easyer. who wants oil all over.
