Am experiencing a front end shimmy at exactly 45 mph. I replaced the oem TRX's w/ Compmotive 17x8.5 CXN and falken tires. Also replaced lower control arms/bushings and idler arm. Steering is now tight and front end isaligned but am still getting the shimmy. Had wheels balanced 3 times to no avail. Wondering if any one has any ideas. It happens both accelerating and decelerating thru the same speed and does not seem to be warped rotors. Please advise.

Vibration on the steering between 45 amd 65 MPH is a tire balance issue.
But on the e24 it is also made worse by the bushings.

You are indeed correct. The issue actually became worse after I did new upper control arms and idler arms. Rebalanced the wheels and tires 3 times, even did the hunter9700 load balance. Still shook like hell.
Finally took the advice of my mechanic. He had been saying all along that he thought I had bad Tires- Falken Avus. Took them back to the dealer and had them swapped under warranty for Michelin Pilot Sports.
Problem solved! Rock solid. A good lesson for anyone considering buying cheap tires !
