I've recently come across a website through another af member called carsponsorships.com. Please, anyone give me details on sponsorships and go to this website and tell me if it's legit.. It's asking for a deposit to send my resume to all these companies. How can I go about being sponsored and where do I go to find out information, Thanks.

well, to get sponsored you have to have a pretty nice car already. Then send sponsorship proposals to companies your interested in. Let them know why you're looking for sponsorships and what your goals are for the car.

I've always been really sketchy with that site. Companies aren't going to sponsor you if you don't show them that you do know what you are doing. If that wasn't the case every ricer out there would have a damn sponsorship.

that all makes sense. I'm just looking for a way to improve my car with my empty wallet. Being a highschool student doesn't help. Especially when you're not rich.

I really don't think that there are many ways of doing this legally.

.. :(

Ha, you know what I meant, companies interested would give me their parts or discount them and I would advertise with decals or fliers at carshows.

u sign up, they send u shit, after a year, you choose a new sponsorship if ur first one went alright, but with the next one u have to be entered into a car show. and they arent jsut ur next door shows either. they are like all over. hotel stays etc. but if u want 600 bucks of vinyl stickers go right ahead

Hey wait a minute, can you give me any more detailed info on carsponsorships.com? Were you a sponsored person or just a scout? Is it really like 400 bucks of vinyls in a cheap sponsorship, or is there real potential in that website?

It's a bunch of crock. I sent my application in. Told them I was only autocrossing and trying to do some road racing venues/track days.

What do I get in the mail? Car stereo sponsorship and another useless item.

A buddy of mine got sponsored by them and showed me the "catalog" from the car audio, he had a 50% sponsorship from them....the crap was twice as much money as any other website would be it was a freakin rip off.
Dont do it, its a waste of money. The only way you can get a real sponsorship is by doing your car up right yourself first. Take that $50 or however much it is and buy yourself something for your car instead of pissing it away on this crap.

Yeah, i figured that site wasn't bery legit. I'll stick with suping up my car with my own money until I can convnce NOPI to sponsor me, LOL.

boo nopi, they suck, dont ever order from them. Ive ordered from them twice, once the part they had listed hadnt actually come out yet and I dont think it ever DID come out, and the second time I just had them cancel the order since 6 weeks later they hadnt even shipped it out to me. Screw nopi.

I acquired my sponsors: KAM Racing Sports, Falken Tires, Finish First Polish, Honda-Acura.net, Brady's High Performance, Taggart Performance Engineering, and Rotora brakes by just attending autocross events and various other "racing" events.

Built up my resume so that it would look impressive. And actually 4 of those sponsors just came up to me at an event or online to sponsor me. I've been autocrossing for 8 years, did show cars for 3 years. Also been an instructor for 4 years. And plus I don't (at least I don't think I do) screw my sponsors over - which is what most people do when they get stuff. Don't take your sponsors for granted. Do as much for them PLUS extra.

That's what I figured it takes to get sponsorships. But nopi Is fine for me when I can drive 45 mins and be at the store. Then I don't have to worry about it not being in stock or shipping. I just call em and ask if it's there, then go get it.
