.....Lower my Maisto Mclaren F1 at the front becuase at the moment the springs push the body up too high leaving a 1cm gap between the wheel and wheel arch.

Hey,
Get some type of clippers and take a few rungs off the springs. Simple. Easy. Good luck.

Watch out for this...
I did the same with my McLaren F1 from Maisto but the problem is when you lower it a lot, just enough to make it feel cool, the wheels will touch the inside of the wheel arch and the car won't roll anymore...
Just try to lower it to the level that's the safest before lowering the springs.

Watch out for this...

It's a model. Why do the wheels have to roll. I took the spings comletely out of my Maisto McLaren. It looks far better than the huge gap.
