I assume that after 5-7 minutes you used to be at Temp. Did you ever get up to normal operating temp? I am thinking you have a stuck open thermostat for starters. Hows your coolant level? Does the heater work?

So you were expecting the engine to warm up completely in 5-7 minutes?

That's what I was thinking, 5-7 Minutes isn't long enough to get to temp, but then, since it rarely gets to 27° F in Phoenix, I didn't want to question it. Back to my original question, did you ever get to normal operating temp? If so, did the sputtering stop?

no, that isnt it at all. i know the engine wouldnt get up to temp in 6 mins, im just saying that i got into it and started to drive it at 6 mins. getting up to temp has nothing to do with my problem. it is when i started to drive away, my car was putting. all the way up the road. it has never done this before. that is what i am asking, about the putting...

Did the sputtering ever stop when you did reach operating temp? If so, I would think the problem is being caused by a rich mixture condition. Any Check engine light?

no check engine light. i went home and tried to use the scanner and see if anything came up. nothing came up. after i un plugged the scanner, i started the car and went for a drive again and everything was smooth as it was before. i did check my egr valve and it was clean as a whistle.
