Hi all, I have to change my rear struts and strut mounts. i was hopping there maybe a site that wuold have some diagrams and walkthroughs for it. i do not think it will be to hard. But they are making some realy bad clonking goning on.....as will about the dipstick thing for the auto-trainny...i just don't see it on my car...how far back is it?

Buy a haynes auto repair manual, changin struts is relatively simple as long as you have a spring compressor. I believe your sunfire has a sealed transmission, no dipstick.

Canadian Tire will lend you the spring compressor. As for the tranny dipstick Pontiac made some 1997 and newer sunfire / cavalier tranny's maintenence free.

ok,ok,ok....here ya go man on your car there are only struts on the front ....on the rear there is shocks with coil over springs. and to help you with your transmission...there is a little red looking cap down on the side of your motor( left or right side ) i would say that you would only have to check the fluid but if you do encounter a problem with it i would take it to a shop for maintenance...happy hunting, kinda hard to reach through all the tight crap!
