Hey guys, weird question for you. I'm looking at getting a 1gb GSX, but I really love the 1ga pop-up headlights. I've heard of people doing the opposite of this, but how hard would it be to revert to the older style? What parts would I need? Is it pretty well bolt on or will there be fabrication work to be done. It's not important enough to me to spend a lot of time/energy on it. Just thought I would ask though. Thanks!

it would be possible but i would imagine it would requiere you useing aa core support from a 90-91 so that there is a place for the popups. i dont know about you but i would just look and see if i could find a 90-91 instead of doing the conversion

90-91 has a 6 bolt engien which is better. i would try and find a 1Ga if i were you.
if you want to do it though i think you just need fenders lights and the front bumper. i think the front frame piece is the same.

Only the 90/91's come with 6 bolt motors? I was under the impression that all the motors up until 94.5 had 6 bolts in them.

nope only the 90-92.5 had the 6 bolts, but they came w/ the 3bolt rearend, so its kinda a trade off. i dont think the core support is the same beause it doesnt have the mounting locations for the headlight motors and other whatnot associated w/ the popups
and popups wll get you layed!

Here's the deal, the car I'm looking at in a 90 GSX, so it has the motor I want. Someone broke the front bumper at some point and converted it to the stationary headlights. Along with the headlights, they put on all GS aero stuff and badging. I should be quite a sleeper when I get my hands on it.
