Help... My remote entry FOB (Yukon XL) sensitivity is getting weaker and weaker. I've replaced the battery in the FOB 3 times with no success. Is it possible that the unit in the truck is going bad or do the FOBs wear out??? If so, are there after market parts or do I need to get a new unit from the dealer? I've already had it to the dealer and they said that it's working... :banghead: The only problem is that I need to be standing right next to the drivers door to get it to work. I may as well just use the key!!! Thanks for any help!

Hi, do you have just one or more fob's?
It could be the receiver under the dashboard cover... (easy to uncover).
There is a GMC 'fob tester', they may not have it.
If they really wanted to find out they could program your fob to another vehicle and check it that way...

I would get a second fob, have them program it to your vehicle.
I that is wimpy too, you have the culprit under the dash cover.
If that one is good, throw the old one out.

Take care, Eggert :bananasmi

You can get fobs off of Ebay for about $10 and program them yourself (instructions are on these forums).

It would be worth a try.......

change the batteries in the fob first before you do anything else

sorry guys lost my train of thought, when you change batterys again take a pencil eraser and clean all contact points the batteries touch, it just my be connection, if not then try testing receiver in car.
