I need to know what all of you mitsubishi pple think of this deal i've been offered.

There are 2 cars in this deal....

91 Eagle Talon TSI AWD

This car has a salvage title
4g63 motor that is missing the turbo. and the block is cracked cause the idiot before had used NOS, Transmition is fine... the guy just rebuilt the rear end of the TSI and the car is primer grey. Interior is good... short shifter kit.

93 laser

Clean title
fwd
no engine
car was in accident and rear end is bad but doesn't effect the driveability of the car.
Good paint red

This guy says he has all of the parts to rebuild the engine and he'll through those in too. Also he has more spare body parts that he will throw in also.
The guy is asking for 2K for all of this

i do not know how to rebuild an engine but am very good with my hand and i understand mechanical things very well.

Should i take this guy up on this deal? or is it not worth my time?

If i do take the cars, which would i be best off rebuilding?

thanks

you should be able to find a better deal then that. check out dsmtrader.com. for 2k you should be able to find a running/driveable 1g turbo awd in decent shape

The problem with that is i don't get any experience building a car up and i'm 16 so i don't have a lot of time on my hands to go and fetch a car in oh say, Florida.

He said he'd take 1500 for the whole thing too.... but he wants 2000

As was mentioned before, im sure you can find a running AWD for that much. Theres alot of work swapping/rebuilding motors, even worse if you haven't done it before. I would second the motion to save your money and look for a better deal.

For a first timer I might also say pass. But if that was local to me I would probably do it. If I wasnt already working on 4 other cars that is. It would be good for you to get some experience, but without that experience building up a DSM from that condition can be costly in both time and money, and frustration. :)

he said he has extra parts and everything i need to build the car completely. I'll eventually need to learn how to rebuild an engine anyway, so can you give me specific examples of why i don't want to do this?

I'm not saying you dont want to do it, it just may not be the best way to get into it. What you end up doing is entirely your decision. :) If you do it, there will be bumps along the way, but if you want to do it and follow through with it, by all means do it. We'll be here to asnwer questions as they arise. :)
