Speedo Cable

My 4runner speedo cable makes noise and goes like that most of the time :iceslolan:, does anybody try to lubricate that cable before, it goes thro the floor right?, and where to ?; transmition?; for sure 90 4runner doesn't have vss, therefore i wanna fix it, it's really annoying lately, thanks
