The K&N FIPK air filter I believe is a cold air intake, at least the is what I have been told. I was also told that if you get a new airfilter that the K&N is the one to get.

guys want a cheaper, way to do it? way pay 150-200 bucks for a bent piece of metal....get a metal pipe, have it bent, and then put a k&n air filter on it....thats all a cold air intake is...its gonna be custom, if u get a nice tube its gonna look just as nice as a purchased one, and its a hella lot cheaper!!! and it works the same!!!!!!

grr ment to add one more thing, the pipe doesnt make the intake, the air filter does...as long as its a performance air filter, its gonna work just as good no matter how or what the pipe is made of

Hey i got a idea.Since you seemed to have mastered a intake why dont you start making them and selling them on Ebay? And all the cheap asses can go over there and buy them from you.

dude ur stupid shut up he said where do u get intakes. and u dont drill holes for the sensors, u use the stock part of the truck that has the sensors on it. and all i was saying was every pipe on every intake is the same it doesnt matter what brand it is, its gonna work the same, and k&n, skunk2 whatever the best brands out there all they do is take a pipe and bend it....so why not do it ur self? it looks just as nice retard. where the power comes from from the intake is the cone. as long as thats a performance cone then thats where ur gonna get ur max of 10hp. and if u do a intake the right way, u put it down in ur fender or something where u dont need to sheild it from heat, DUR!!!!

Hey Guys, the whole point of a forum, such as this one, is to give each other ideas to make our rides what we want them to be. I think making parts yourself, when practical, is the way to go. It is plainly obvious we cannot design and build all the parts required of our babies. To save a buck or two building your own part adds that buck or two you can spend on something you can't build. If that isn't your thing then by all means buy the parts from a vendor. Frontin' has the idea! I have a friend that made one and it looks great and works good too. He even made his own exhaust headers using steel he bought from a local steel vendor and buying a pipe bender from Harbor Freight tools. His Frontier sounds great and will out pull mine anyday of the week. He has approx $200 bucks in the intake and exhaust system (combined). Tough to argue with THAT price. The point of my rambling is this...we use this forum to bounce around ideas and advice. It is not a matter of being cheap. It is a matter of being resourceful and using the skills of others (as well as your own) to enable your ride to become the ride you want.

I recently bought a cold air intake for my 1994 ford t-bird, but i received a FIPK. Is the FIPK the same thing as a cold air intake? All it came with was a filter and some bolts and screws.

frontiersco1 this is mainly a forum of intelligent resourceful proud frontier owners who enjoy hearing others opinions, ideas, and experiences. i would like to suggest you find another forum more suited to your seemingly inherent ability to call people names, put down ideas, and generally making yourself a nuisance to others.
