It says on the JIC web site that they suspension parts are for race use only, why? Is it just because it'll be uncomfortable on the street with all the pot-holes? Or another reason?

Right-o....

Ths may be the reason why everyone says "JIC is crap"... coilovers aren't made for cruising, kids!

nope, all coilovers put down "for track use" only, because of legal reasons. JIC is crap though, I've heard so many stories of them blowing prematurely. My D2s also have the label "for track use only"

BTW the ride will be a lil more uncomfortable of course, ok more like a lot more uncomfortable, but that's not the reason why it's for track only

^ So, I'm not the only one to hear that JIC was kinda crappy?

It's not just the coilovers, it's all the tie rods and end rods and all thast shit.

i'm sure you could still use it all for street but warrantees would probably be void since their stuff isnt built for bumps and potholes

Things I've Seen or Heard Wrong with JICs

1) Random stiffness Incriments on shock dyno (Soft 1-6-3-5-8-2 Hard)
2) Broken Struts (happened on a Track)
3) Blown Shocks 3 days out of the box on full soft
4) Custom Springs shipped without custom shock rates (as promised)
5) Horrible Turnaround on revalve / rebuilds

JIC suspension is wack. I havent seen one pro car in Japan use them besides the JIC sponsered car which JIC obviously has an Interest in preforming well.

I wasn't interested, I was just curious as to why they would put that. Anyways, thx all.

what about the JIC 350z and rx-8 that both pull well over 1.0 gs

yeah they arent cool for street use but i would say they work for track/drift use just fine

When you make Coilovers your shop car better work damn well. As shown by the SR20 Craze when something works well or is touted in a magazine it sells. Giving JIC a vested Intrest in how their shop cars preform.

Skidpad is more a function of big sticky tires and car weight. Shalom is where good coilovers will shine.
