Why did the car over heat? What symptoms did the car have before it cut it-self off? how long did you drive it while it had those symptoms. What do your fluids look like?

agree with what naked dancer said.......also, your cooler fan relay may be bad causing overheating. Did you hear the fan running at all? The thermostat may be stuck. The fan relay is on the front of the car, passenger side, behind the lights.

If you didnt drive it long while overheated, maybe the engine has not locked up.

I was driving my car and it started to overheat so when i pulled over at a gas station it cut off then we pulled it into a stail check all the fluids and i didnt have any anti-freeze so we bought some and filled it up then let it coo down and tried to start it again but would start up. got it towed over to my house got it looked it at and nobody new what the problem was. i kept on trying to start it but it would start and would just sound like it wants to turn over but deosnt. sorry i took so long to reply back
