I replaced my key lock cylinder on my '96 because the old one would no longer go back to the lock position preventing me from locking the steering wheel or getting my keeys out. After replacing it with one from advance auto parts I was extremely irritated to get it all back together and find out that it wont even start now. Also would taking the airbag off of the wheel hurt anything if the wheel is not locked in place because I had no choice. Anyone with suggestions on what my problem might be please let me know asap

Welcome to the forum and I would put my money on the Vats system not functioning correctly or not wired correctly and causing the no start but I would double check all the wiring, infact check it 5 times.
