I started this model about a week ago, but its proving to be a little differcult for me, because when i was cutting off the standard body kit i kept on making scraches on the body, it was realy starting to enoy me when my dad scapped the door in half! (look at pic below).http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/285350Copy_of_DSCN1610-med.JPG

But apart from all of those mistakes, its going quite well (at the moment!). Anyway heres some more pic's of it.

Looking good Tom! Donīt you dare give up on it, donīt let the plastic win! Is that a SAS bodykit? Iīm not sure about that mesh though, in my opinion it looks out of scale, interior is looking very good too!

one thing to look out for is the headlights lenses, apart from that good start.

If you didnt care about the orgional bumpers, I would have invested ina Dremmel. You'll use it throught your entire life. My best investment EVER.

I think he means you should have used your dremel to cut the stock bumpers out. How did you cut them? Certainly with your X-acto knife, passing several times the blade, and then you skiped? Am I true?

If you don't care about keeping the part, cut it far from the joint with your dremel, and then , sand the leftover plastic until you've reached the exact shape.

Btw, good job so far.

I have now painted the body and done the wind screen and fitting that to night. First of all i painted 3 coats of Halford's white prima, then i sprayed 2 coats of Halford's silver, Then the last coat's were 2 coat's of mertalic(sorry can't spell it!) dark blue. Then it looked like this....

Hey,

Nice mods so far. Can't really make out the color that much tho. Did you brush paint the interior and body? Color combo work nice together. Keep up the nice work.

that body needs a bit of cutting back it just seems that the paint is on too thick, i would suggest wet sanding and a polishing it up.

You really should try repainting it. The paint job isn't worthy of the great bodywork you did. Great choice of color, though.

You should try sanding one area before striping colour thou (roof for example) and then polishing it, just to see how will it come out. Looks like there is enough paint for sanding it down to the perfect. Just be very patient and work slowly, little by little. Oh yes, nice work on transkit ;)
