AT LAST!!!!
Thats about 6 years since the original concept but it looks well worth the wait. Its good to see Citroen has'nt strayed away from the styling of the Lineage concept, swooping elegant lines impress and would say its one of the most beautiful cars to be launched this year so far. I hope the quirky theme continues inside, with a swooping 'C4' like dash. Plus the addition of the fab new twin-turbo 2.7litre V6 Diesel.
Sadly although 'I' love this car many won't, I really don't why Citroen are launching it. I mean the XM was unloved and never sold well outside France, as is common with most big, French execs. I think Citroen should have stuck to the more-mainstream stuff, I mean why launch a bare-bum basic city car(the C1) then try and launch a 5-Series rival. The mind boggles...Ahwell still well worth the wait and a good show of Citroen's renewed individuality.

The C6 has a really nice design, original and is more original than the classic 607 and nicer (itsn't difficult) than the Vel Satis.
Why has Citroën launched this car ? Simply because Citroën is historicaly known as for his little cars (2CV, LNA, AX, Saxo, C1, etc.) than for the biggest (DS, CX, XM, etc.).
If the first segment as still worked well, it's because there is a wide range of clients. And this little cars were often quite good. The second segment is very important for the image of a company. And Citroën is well known in the world often thanks to the DS. The XM hasn't sell well (also in France) because of a price quite high (in 1995 for example, you would have an XM for the price of a 5 Series brand new, with an equivalent motor and equiment), and overall, because of problems of reliability in 1989 when the car appeared. Then it was resolved in 91, but the image was there.
The C6 won't have excellent commercial results simply because BMW, Audi and Mercedes sell 80% on this segment. The place left for Citroën (and for Saab, Lancia, Alfa, Peugeot, Jaguar, Volvo, etc. etc.) is not big. Though, but it's certaincly anecdotic, the C6 is very "à la mode" for the French CEO's today, all want their C6... but how long will it dure ?....
And of course there is all the other cars between these two categories. But it'd be a pain to talk about all these cars now ;)
