see im use to pulling up at a stop light next to a semi fast car and the first thing the driver do is look at what badges i have before they decide to take off all hard once the light goes green but tonight i just had it. a buddy of mines just got a 01 ss and he knew of this spot where people hang out ricers and demestics it was a mix of everything, some dudes mom brought out her 2004 roush mustang, not big on fords but it was nice and his mom was hot, anyways three z's and my buddies ss was all lined up next to eachother along with my rs and this guy in a all hooked up accord comes over and starts talking about racing. my boy laughs at him and was like i aint wasting my time along with the guys with the z's so what does he do, he starts eyeing my car and says im sure i could hang with u but ill kill that rs.....whos is it. my boy grabs me and tells me what the dude says and as im walking to him he looks at me and starts talking shit. so now everybody there is looking at me like damn he called u out, and one guy pulling out a 20 a says i got this on the honda i decide what the hell, so we line them up. now i dont know what he got under the hood or claimed 2 have but that gerbel in the ball he had under there 2nite wasnt working hard because when he floored it i left his ass. by the time i hit 3rd i couldnt see him at all! my boy told me it looked like i had him by 4 car lengths. talking crap gets u nowhere in life. afterwards he asks me is my car really a z with rs badges. um no jackass, u just got beatdown by the ole 3800...smh i dont do this much but he asked for it, and on top of that, it was a import.

hmm... that's odd. people see me in my RS and everybody wants to race! trucks and all. Well... I guess it helps that my license plates say "REV HRD".

i think a lot of it is the pricing on the imports is way cheaper than a real sports car, also on insurance. but here were i live insurance is raising on the hopped up little cars. i saw this one dude in walmart complaining that his insurance is sky rocketing on his civic

The problem is that american v6's never had much respect.. If anything they've got more respect now than ever.. It has more to do with the stereotype american = supposed to be big powerful fuel consuming engines, japanease = suposed to be small efficient engines

oh i see... well i guess im gonna have to show people how much that 3800 series two can do, it may seem silly but damn this im gonna make that car with that motor fast. just because people think its a wast of money and time. i dont have nothing else but a few bills to spend my money on anyway, i have no wife no kids so what the hell, im on a mission to break some real ass in a v6 maro
instantkevin
02-10-2005, 08:49 PM
you can do it. the V6 can net you around 215hp easily (same as a 94 mustang GT), if you do it right. thats before a blower. go to V6fbody.com. there's another V6 performance site, but i can't find it right now.

the 3800 if i am not mistaken already makes like 200hp flat.

oh and by the way i think we are only making 200hp crank im sure its like 180 or so to the wheels, ill let u all know what it does on the dyno next week. as of now all i have is a half ass exaust, plugs wires, a new rear end with gears, speed shifter, and cold air intake, so its kinda stock.
z28 boy
02-11-2005, 08:39 PM
ofcourse all factory ratings are at the crank. My car was supposed to be 305 at the crank and i made 301 to the wheels.

Its not that people...disrespect the V6 Sooo much....its that the V8 is supposed to be the big fish in the water not the V-6...Im going to race a 98 Camaro(Stock: 200HP) in my 91 240SX (Stock: 155HP but probably like 140 whp with my intake) so should be close ill post on here what the outcome is...the 240SX is the baddest 4-Cyl around for the price range...

Isnt the Silvia (thats a 240...isnt it?) the better one, supposed to have turbo and such...this dude at my other school (CC in Des moines) drives one, hes alright. although hes jerk when driving, blocked off the entrence cause he got "stuck". Anyhow, what is that cars Specs comparied to its standerd one?

Hey atleast you guys have people to race, man the only people who want to race me are those guys who have 20-30 grand in the car and only bring it out twice a year cuz they have that damn blower on it with the 50's on back with wheelie bars and roll cages in them. The regular guys n the ricers, mustangs and othr maros dont wanna mess with me. I guess its prolly a good thing cuz my car is geared way to low so my top end sux a$$ bad. I mean i can gettem off the line and hold it for abit but if were going any distance besides stoplight to stoplight im skrewed.

The S13(89-94) Silvias put out 201HP i believe and the S14(95-98) Silvia puts out like 220HP and the S15(99+ only in japan) puts out like 247HP...But not a single factory 240 came with turbo in the US...so all your 240SXs over here put down 155HP and 160TQ (127 rwhp) in stock form...im getting like 135+rwhp and the camaro is getting like? 160-170rwhp? and it weighs more then me....so we will see tmw

well mono.. it depends on more than weight and horsepower..
*auto or manual tranny can be a factor, torque, gear ratio (3.08 i believe in the stock 3.8), and the skills of the driver are always at measure.

my friends '86 iroc killed a turborcharged 240 that had a big ass front mount intercooler on it... he popped the hood and it was all shinny and stuff lol i don't know anything bout import engines...
my friends iroc has a 350 bored .60 over, forged/flattop pistons, alluminum heads, 750cfm holley double pumper, hooker comp headers, 2.75 in true duals (ran under the subframes almost on the ground lol), 700r4 w/ shift kit, b&m ratchet shifter, and a 4.10 geared 10-bolt.
my friend shifted at 4000 rpm and still killed the 240... the 350 can actually rev almost 7500...
v8's make quick work of 4cylinders most of the time, my friends car may have alot of work, but he didn't hardly try...
