fuel pump..

My freind borrowed my car , ran out of gas then eventually pushed it to a gas station and filled up. won't start.... Is the pump fried? if so what would i need to do to replace it?

You might still want to check the fuel pump, but I was told with my Grand Prix that if you run out of gas completly you have to change the fuel injectors. That might be the problem not sure though

when you click the key on, you should hear the fuel pump engage. i would make it do that a few times. then try and start again. if you dont hear it. the relay could have went bad, doubtful. or just tap on the gastank with a mallet. you may just need to build up the pressure in the lines. one trick that usually works when you flood it, might work for this situation. push the gas pedal to the floor board and hold it there and try to start it. it tells the computer to purge the system.
