You bought an Almera/Pulsar, the single most dullest car on the road........ Time I flew down there and had a chat.......

Just kidding! Still, 5 doors? tsk tsk, everyone knows a good warm-hatch only has 3 :p Enjoy your motoring and errrrrr...... Try not to crash this one, eh? ;) N15's are pretty fun things to drive, especially the SSS.

The back of the car looks very similar to a civic HB.

Should have bought a Hyundai, Ozzie :p

Nice car, I like the color and the wheels, the vehicle looks like its brand new, nice shine. Actually claw is right, for some reason it reminds me of a cross between a VW and a Honda civic. I like it.

So, the question remains, do the seats fall flat like a bed. Always have to make the ladies comfortable.

TS out

Sports buckets in the front, there's room for a mattress in the back. Either way, at least the steering wheel is height adjustable for those longggg drives.....:D

SR20DE's RULE!!!

w00tness.

Anyhoo, the worst part of the motor is trying to get to the damned oil filter... I'm always afraid of burning myself while reaching a foot into the hot engine to get the lil bastard out. It runs strong, and doesn't mind being revved out every now and again. I love mine. I almost hate to think of ever replacing it.

Nice Pulsar, like the rims, kinda make the car look a bit sportier. God makes me wish people weren't pissing me around with my Civic, so I could have a new car as well. I have to postpone my car plans for 6 weeks thanks to those jerks. :(

Nice car Oz, its almost respectable.

I almost bought one before I got the Civic R.I.P.

It was a NZ new car (same as the azzie spec), but the dealer wanted way to much for it, especialy since it need new tyres and clutch.

I drove quite a few N15 pulsars to, all were some of the most boring cars I have ever driven, except the SSS, which is quite a differnt car.
Its a shame the SR20 is such a lethargic engine though.
That beautiful strong bottom end with what has to be one of the worst cylinder head designs in automotive history. It breaths like a smoker with lung cancer and an upgrade to some respectable lungs (cams) requires machining and/or fitting of aftermarket rockers.
Still that bottom end is tough, and likes a bit of boost to make up for the heads limits :D

That aside, heres a bit of history you might find interesting.
I got this from an enginer who was working for Nissan here in NZ during the 70s.
The SSS name, and the performance versions of the Pulsar and before it the 120y came from New Zealand.
Basicly they had a pile of 120Ys they needed to move, and a small group of enginers at the Nissan plant here in NZ (at the time assembling cars CKD), were given a small budget and instructions to make a "sport" version of the 120Y.
They developed a set of headers and some twin carbs for it, put it on mags with wider tyres with stiffer roll bars and called it the 120Y SSS.

Some representatives from Japan saw the car, thought it was a great idea, and ordered a pile of headers and inlet manifolds so they could start selling 120Y SSS's in Japan.
From there the SSS badge stuck and has been used on several generations of the Pulsar all over the world, and if Im not mistaken the N14 SSS was partialy developed here in NZ, and in Aussie.
In Japan its quite popular, and has also been used on the Bluebird for several generations, either models fitted with an SR20DE, or SR20VE with the CVT gear box. And Iv even seen SSS badges on GT primeras.

Davo - No thanks. Been there, done that. If it gets any kind of breathing mods, it will be CAI from one of the fog light gaps in the front bumper to a ram pod, full extractors and the quetest exhaust I can get that still has a reasonable performance gain. Sports exhausts shit me after a while.

Moppie - cheers for the info! Loving it. Might look at some nasty cams after the above is done. The thought of a 120Y SSS is pretty scary though. Lemon central.

Josh - 1 already. Gorgeous redhead named Courtney. The weekend is here though...

I was never wild about import styling, but I dig that front end. :)

I'd lose the front liscense plate thingy though.

Oz

Yeah, thinking of black and white slim line plates for it - I think would look much better. Unfortunately you have to have a license plate of some description on the front of the car :(

Well that sucks. That must be a rule in the land down under. But now that I think about it, I think some states require that - but thankfully, Michigan isn't one of them! :)

Sweet Ride Ozzie. I am thinking of trading the YotaleeYota in for a 99-00 diesel truck. But I'd hate to get rid of it. All has done to leave us or me stranded was a dead battery and locked the keys in with the ignition turned on with the CD player on. That's why the battery was dead. It's been put way past hell and back. Not to mention that thing has seen more off-roading then most of these SUVs running around here.

The black/white slimline plates kick the arses of the big yellow/black plates all over town :D
