ok, I have a 91 Blazer. The screws that hold the steering column in place came loose. I have dismantled my steering column ALMOST all the way to these screws. Now I am stuck. any ideas? I can take pics and post them here. But if anyone has full schematics or diagrams that would help too. I have bought every blazer manual you could find and none of them help me. the chilton manual is most worthless cause it only takes you as far as the lock plate compressor, I'm way past that, just need to figure out how to finally reach these screws. and help would be much appreciated.
thanx,

Are you talking about the lower steering column is tight but the upper above the tilt assembly is loose? If so, remove the turn signal switch, cruise lever, the ignition lock cylinder, and turn signal housing. Now, using the tilt lever, tilt the column up and remove the tilt housing spring (#2 phillips screwdriver, push in and turn 90 degrees). Then remove the pivot pins with the pivot pin remover tool (inexpensive tool, don't try to use anything else). When these are out use the tilt lever to disengage the teeth on the bearing support housing and remove the tilt assembly. The four bolts are now exposed. Use loctite and tighten to 5 ft lbs.
When reassembling, the pivot pins are gently tapped into place. Make sure you reengage ignition lock cylinder rack gears properly and line up the dimmer rod with the switch while you're assembling. Put the key buzzer switch in after the lock cylinder.
Good Luck

thank you for your help, still 1 problem, i'm only seeing 1 pivot pin, where is the other located at? is there only 1 or 2?
and if by any chance, do you have a diagram or schematic of this? anything else that could help.
much appreciated, everything else you explained you hit on the button, just still curious about these pivot pins.
Thanx,
