auto trans and headers

I have an auto trans in my 85 cj-7 mated up to a 258. Is there any kind of cable linkage kit available for my torquflite 999? OR will I have to just either put in a floor shifter or cut and re-weld the linkage? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
