looking for cheap upgrades

I have a 1990 Mercury Cougar LS 3.58L V6. The motor is on the engine stand because i spun a bearing, so i pulled the motor. My dad suggested to me to put a few upgrades here and there. I was just wandering if anybody could help me find some cheap hop ups, that i can get of the internet, or some links.
