Very bouncy/hard ride

I just bought a 96 Eclipse GS. Well while driving hitting little bumps in the round is really bouncy. And when you hit a large bum or rail road track it hits hard and sound like it's trying to tear the car apart. Even going slow it hits hard. To me it feels like it's coming from the rear. Also when drving down like the interstate going 70mph when you hit a bump it feels bouncy...but then the car will try to "yank" either left or right when it "comes down".

Also another thing the pass side rear wheel looks like it sits higher than the rest of the wheels/tires. What do you think this is? I thought it could be a blown rear shock/strut.

i think that now you own an eclipse, you need to leave your comfort zone and venture out into the eclipse forum. we'll still help in the civic forum, however your best place for eclipse problems is here :)
